I am always so overwhelmed by that gentle word to my heart from the great Shepherd of our souls.

Lately, I have been being drawn by Him into a season of honing my listening ears that I might more easily hear Him, as He said, "My sheep hear my voice and I know them and they follow Me." John 10:27 NLT.

What usually happens, however, is that I am given instructions with which I wrestle . Now, I don't wrestle with obeying the Lord, I begin to wrestle with, knowing myself, if I am actually hearing Him and not just getting caught up in emotion or my own created desires. I usually follow that with the spirit of Gideon....wet the fleece, dry the fleece, etc.

What I am learning is that I really do know His Voice and I can rest in knowing that He will not lead me astray. That I don't have to know the "why" He wants me to do something, just that He does. I am striving to get to the place where my immediate response is "yes Sir!" To obey His bidding with no thought of what I get in return. It is just my great honor to be one to whom He is willing to entrust anything. To be on an errand for the King, Himself, really is all the 'reward' one should need.

If you wrestle with whether it is His Voice or your thoughts, I want to encourage you to become a student of the Word. This is the best way to train our "ears" to hear His Voice. After all, He is the Word and the more we get His Word in us, the easier it is to hear that gentle spoken Voice that leads us on.

This little sheep, for one, loves that He knows me and I am ready to follow wherever He goes. Speak to me oh great Shepherd and lead me in the way everlasting!

I remain resolute in certain arenas; I will not engage in debates about anything, I will not spend hours each day mindlessly scrolling on feeds that basically just informs me that someone just ate some granola, however, the digital world does have its benefits. It is much easier to disseminate a large amount of info to the entire world with the push of a button. It makes long distant relationships with family and friends seem not so far away.

I have spent the last many weeks working to upgrade our ministry's online and digital presence and to my delight, I am pleased with the results. I am not a coding wiz and there has been a broad learning curve. I road the curve though and I am excited to announce our new website and mobile app. We will continue to fine tune as we go, so if you have some suggestions on anything that may make our site or our app easier to use, please send us your comments.

This is actually my first blog on this new site and I am writing it to actually create the blog posting page for the site. I have jumped into the deep end, but happily thus far, I am staying afloat.

Thank you for your time as you read our beginning blog! Have a great day!
